Bombora Alternatives (2026): 5 Options + Clearbit Comparison
Compare what each intent source observes, where it activates, and whether it can actually replace Bombora's publisher co-op signal.
No vendor is a drop-in replica of Bombora's publisher Data Co-op. Choose 6sense or Demandbase when you need a broader ABM system; G2 or TrustRadius when software-evaluation behavior matters; and HubSpot Buyer Intent when the job is identifying target accounts on your own website. Clearbit-style visitor intelligence and Bombora Company Surge answer different questions.
Bombora Company Surge identifies accounts whose research on B2B topics rises above their own historical baseline. Bombora says the signal is derived from its consent-driven Data Co-op, which spans thousands of B2B publishers and brand sites. That source is the product. A platform with website identification, review-site activity, or bidstream keywords can be useful without being an equivalent replacement.
This guide compares the five routes an established B2B software company is most likely to evaluate. It does not assign a universal winner because signal source, geographic coverage, activation system, existing contracts, and governance determine the fit.

How we evaluate
Snipe operates outbound campaigns; it does not sell intent-data software, accept affiliate fees, or receive payment for placement. This comparison uses current first-party product documentation and evaluates five procurement questions: what behavior creates the signal, whether it is first-, second-, or third-party, how accounts are identified, where the data activates, and what controls an established company needs. We have not run a controlled head-to-head accuracy test of every provider, so this is a source-and-operating model comparison rather than a performance ranking.
Bombora vs Clearbit: they observe different behavior
The old “Bombora vs Clearbit” framing now maps most closely to Bombora Company Surge versus HubSpot Buyer Intent. Bombora observes off-site topic research across its Data Co-op and compares recent account activity with an account-specific historical baseline. HubSpot Buyer Intent requires the HubSpot tracking code, then uses target markets and visit criteria to identify companies showing intent on your own website.
Choose Bombora when the missing signal is which target accounts are researching relevant topics beyond your owned properties. Choose HubSpot Buyer Intent when the missing signal is which fitting companies are already visiting your site and what workflow should follow. Many mature teams use both source types; neither should be labeled a drop-in replacement for the other.
What to define before switching
- Decision to improve. Account prioritization, advertising audiences, seller alerts, renewal risk, or website conversion require different evidence.
- Signal source. Separate owned-site behavior, publisher research, bidstream keywords, and review-site evaluation instead of calling all of it “intent.”
- Account universe. Measure coverage and match rate against the same approved target-account list, regions, and company hierarchy.
- Activation path. Name the CRM fields, scoring rules, audiences, alerts, owners, and service-level agreement that turn a signal into action.
- Governance. Review consent basis, data-processing terms, retention, geographic restrictions, account exclusions, access controls, and deletion workflows with the appropriate internal owners.
The alternatives
6sense
6sense is the broadest replacement route here when the buying decision is really about predictive account scoring and revenue orchestration. Its documented intent model combines CRM, marketing automation, website activity, 6sense keyword research, and optional third-party sources including Bombora, G2, and TrustRadius. That means 6sense can be the system that interprets and activates Bombora rather than a substitute for Bombora's underlying co-op data. Review the current 6sense intent model.
Demandbase
Demandbase fits teams that want proprietary global keyword intent, account identification, advertising, and ABM activation in one operating environment. Demandbase documents a blend of bidstream and curated-content signals, and it can import Bombora, G2, and TrustRadius data. Treat it as an ABM platform decision, then decide whether Bombora remains one of its source feeds. See Demandbase's current intent-data model.
G2 Buyer Intent
G2 Buyer Intent is a narrower signal for software companies that care about product, category, pricing, review, alternatives, and competitor-comparison activity. G2 now describes those signals across G2, Capterra, Software Advice, and GetApp. This can be closer to an active software evaluation than broad topic research, but its useful account universe depends on the category and competitor presence your buyers actually use. Review G2's documented buyer-intent actions.
HubSpot Buyer Intent
For buyers still searching “Bombora vs Clearbit,” HubSpot Buyer Intent is the more useful current product frame. It uses the HubSpot tracking code, target markets, and visit criteria to identify fitting companies active on owned web properties. It is attractive when HubSpot is already the CRM and activation layer, but it does not observe the same off-site publisher research as Company Surge. See HubSpot's current setup requirements.
TrustRadius
TrustRadius focuses on downstream software-evaluation behavior: accounts viewing product information, reviews, pricing, or competitor comparisons on TrustRadius. It is useful when sales and customer teams need late-stage evaluation or churn signals, but it is not a broad topical-research replacement. Review TrustRadius's current downstream-intent scope.
Can another service replicate Bombora's publisher co-op?
Not exactly. Bombora says its Data Co-op includes thousands of B2B media destinations and that most co-op data is shared exclusively with Bombora for intent derivation. Another provider can solve the same account-prioritization job with a different source, or combine multiple sources, but it cannot truthfully promise the identical publisher signal unless it licenses Bombora data.
If the co-op signal itself is required, test a narrower Bombora deployment or activate Company Surge inside the ABM platform already in use. If the business job matters more than source parity, compare alternatives against the same target accounts and downstream decisions. Read Bombora's current Company Surge methodology.
A controlled 30-day replacement test
- Freeze one target-account universe, company hierarchy, regions, exclusions, and product scope before comparing providers.
- Map Bombora topics to the closest keywords, categories, products, or visit criteria in the challenger. Record non-equivalent fields instead of forcing false parity.
- Run both feeds in shadow mode. Keep seller treatment constant so a workflow change does not masquerade as better signal quality.
- Compare approved-account coverage, match stability, signal delay, false positives, seller acceptance, opportunities created, and protected-account violations.
- Review data-processing terms, access, retention, regional scope, deletion, and suppression controls before production activation.
A large count of “surging” accounts is not the decision metric. The useful provider is the one whose signals repeatedly change a governed action and improve qualified opportunity creation within the company's actual market.
The done-for-you route
Intent data prioritizes accounts; it does not define the ICP, validate contacts, authorize claims, handle replies, or create a qualified opportunity by itself. Before activating a new source, use the enterprise outbound readiness checklist to assign approvals, exclusions, CRM ownership, and escalation. If email execution is the remaining constraint, Snipe's done-for-you outbound solution runs client-approved targeting, prospect research, cold-email copy, dedicated sending infrastructure, reply handling, qualification, and calendar booking. One Terrific Live engagement produced 100 demos booked in 64 days of sending ; that result is not a forecast or guarantee. The cold email agency RFP scorecard separates intent sourcing from the rest of the operating scope. A short diagnostic establishes whether Snipe's email-led scope fits.
