Seven options mapped to the evidence they can produce—and the blind spots an enterprise team must close before trusting them.
No single dashboard proves that an email reached a real B2B buyer's inbox. A defensible stack combines mailbox-provider telemetry, placement sampling, authentication reporting, and production outcomes. Buy the missing evidence layer—not the longest feature list.
“Email deliverability tool” describes several different products: seed-list placement testers, mailbox-provider dashboards, DMARC management platforms, DNS and blocklist monitors, and managed diagnostic services. They do not answer the same question, and their outputs are not interchangeable.

How we evaluate
First-party product documentation can establish what a tool is designed to measure. It cannot establish how accurately a seed panel represents your recipients, whether a production message reached a particular person, or whether the tool will improve pipeline. Every option below is evaluated by evidence type, coverage boundary, operating owner, and the decision it can support.
Choose the evidence layer first
- Mailbox-provider telemetry: complaints, authentication, delivery errors, or IP signals from the provider itself—within that provider's stated scope.
- Placement sampling: where a controlled test message lands across a vendor's seed accounts.
- Authentication: which systems send as your domains and whether SPF, DKIM, and DMARC align.
- Infrastructure diagnostics: DNS, blocklists, mail flow, and configuration failures.
- Production outcomes: accepted messages, human replies, auto-replies, complaints, and downstream conversions segmented by provider and sending stream.
What no deliverability tool can prove alone
A seed test is a sample, provider dashboards have coverage and volume limits, and DMARC proves authentication alignment—not inbox placement. Production reply data also mixes deliverability with targeting, offer, timing, copy, and recipient behavior. Treat disagreement between signals as an investigation trigger, not as permission to choose whichever dashboard looks healthiest.
Snipe's aggregate of 54,478 contacted B2B software prospects recorded a 3.10% reply rate for Google Workspace recipients and 0.30% for Microsoft 365 recipients. That is roughly a tenfold observed gap—not the obsolete 40× statement previously shown on this page—and it was not a controlled provider test. Use the published methodology and aggregate CSV as evidence that provider segmentation matters, not as a universal deliverability benchmark.

GlockApps' official tester page documents inbox, tab, spam, or missing placement across test mailboxes, plus message, blocklist, and authentication checks. It fits preflight and periodic sampling. The output describes the supplied message and seed panel; it does not prove placement for every real recipient. Before buying, map its mailbox mix to your production domains and preserve the raw test history.

MailMonitor's product page combines placement testing with ongoing reputation, authentication, blocklist, and provider-feedback monitoring. It also documents Google Postmaster and Microsoft SNDS integrations. That broader operating surface fits teams that want recurring tests and alerts in one place. Validate exact mailbox coverage, alert routing, data retention, user permissions, APIs, and which remediation services are included in the proposed contract.

Valimail
Valimail Monitor provides DMARC visibility into authorized and unauthorized sending sources; Valimail's paid Enforce workflow manages the move toward quarantine or reject policies. This is authentication and domain-protection infrastructure, not a placement test. It fits organizations that must discover many senders, assign ownership, and govern enforcement without breaking legitimate mail. Validate domain inventory, delegated access, change control, audit history, regional requirements, and the exit path.

dmarcian's management platform turns DMARC data into domain, source, detail, and alert views backed by deployment and support services. dmarcian also documents regional platform instances, which matters when security and data teams have residency requirements. Like Valimail, it answers who sends as the domain and whether authentication aligns; it does not independently prove campaign placement. Validate regional hosting, permissions, exports, implementation ownership, and ongoing alert handling.

Google Postmaster Tools
Google's Postmaster Tools documentation covers compliance, spam rate, authentication, feedback-loop, encryption, and delivery-error dashboards. The critical boundary for B2B teams is explicit: Google says the data applies to mail sent to personal Gmail accounts, and low-volume days may show no data. Do not treat it as direct telemetry for Google Workspace recipients. Use it when the eligible Gmail volume is sufficient, then pair it with production segmentation and other provider signals.

Microsoft SNDS
Microsoft's Smart Network Data Services gives authorized IP owners Outlook.com reputation data and access to the Junk Email Reporting Program. That makes it useful for operators who control the sending IPs behind mail to Outlook.com. Its public scope does not make it a direct inbox test for every Microsoft 365 business tenant. Confirm IP ownership, access, complaint handling, and whether your sending provider exposes the signals you need.

MXToolbox
MXToolbox Delivery Center combines configuration analysis, DMARC, complaints, blocklist monitoring, inbox-placement analysis, and mail-flow monitoring; its free Email Health check is a narrower diagnostic starting point. This makes it a broad consolidation candidate, not merely a blacklist lookup. Validate which modules and integrations are in the proposed plan, provider coverage, monitored domains, message volume, role controls, and how alerts enter the incident workflow.
The email deliverability tool market is not one category
Market reports often group verification, authentication, reputation monitoring, placement testing, and services together. A buyer should not. Email verification asks whether an address is likely to accept mail. DMARC asks whether a sender is authorized. Seed testing samples placement. Provider dashboards expose a provider-specific view. Monitoring products combine some of these signals and add alerts or services. Write the evidence gap first, then compare only products that close it.
A 30-day enterprise pilot
- Inventory the streams. Separate outbound, lifecycle, transactional, support, and employee mail by domain, subdomain, IP ownership, platform, region, and business owner.
- Freeze the evidence standard. Define the providers, seed accounts, authentication checks, complaint signals, production outcomes, latency, and retention period required before vendors configure the demo.
- Run comparable messages. Use the same approved message, sending stream, time window, and authentication state across placement tools. Do not compare different domains or volumes as if the tool caused the result.
- Join production evidence. Segment accepted sends, deferrals, bounces, auto-replies, human replies, complaints, and conversions by provider and stream. Keep recipient-level data out of the shared vendor scorecard.
- Inject one safe failure. Test a non-production DNS or alert scenario so the team can prove detection, routing, ownership, and resolution time rather than admiring a dashboard.
- Review governance. Confirm SSO/SCIM, roles, domain verification, retention, exports, APIs, subprocessors, data residency, support, incident escalation, and deletion.
- Make the decision by gap closed. Choose the least complex stack that produces the missing evidence and has a named owner. More dashboards without an operating response are not additional control.
